I did this on November 18th during one of our in-class drawings. It is supposed to be a contour drawing of Stoel, and I though I captured the way he was sitting well.
This is the drawing I chose as my best one in my sketchbook. I drew it on November 30th, also during an in-class assignment. The think I thought I did best in this drawing was capture the shadows the folds of the draped cloth made. Although it is not the most finished drawing, I wanted to keep it this way and not add anymore to it because I think the time limit we had is an important part of what the drawing is.
Personal Reflection
Over this past semester, I think I have learned a lot about drafting, drawing, and much more. Going into this program, I never, ever though I would care so much about things like line weight, line consistency, text spacing. While I defiantly don't think drafting is one of my strongest areas, I still think that it is a very important part of interior architecture. Although it is still very frustrating at times, especially on our final project, it is much easier and familiar now than it was at the beginning of the year. I feel much more comfortable using the tools and can do everything much faster now compared to the beginning.
I think my weakest area of drafting is my lettering. I usually write in cursive, so my regular print writing isn't that great to begin with. There are always some letters that don't look like they fit with the rest of the text when I use architectural lettering. I have been trying to be very aware of what I do every time I use it and am trying to improve.
While lettering is my weakest area, I think that overall composition is my strongest. I think I do well at determining how thick borders should be, how far apart objects should be, and things like that.
